Party DJ software

A party is not a club set. It is a house, a birthday, a corporate hour, a pool, an anniversary. The music changes with the room. The do-not-play list is personal. The hard out is the neighbour. Party DJ software has to hold that job as an event, then still find a request without hunting.

PowerBox DJ is mobile DJ software first. Parties are the weekday and Sunday work that sits next to Saturday weddings. Same library. Separate events. Separate collections if you want party crates out of wedding flow.

The jobs the wizard already names

The Box Wizard is not a blank crate. It already thinks in party language. You pick the kind of night. It stands up boxes with icons. You fill them.

  • House — a living room, a backyard, a playlist that has to survive requests.
  • Corporate — background, then a peak if they asked for one, and a list that must not play.
  • Birthday, baby shower, engagement, anniversary — a song at a time, notes for whose name it is.
  • Pool, summer, winter, holiday, Halloween, New Year — seasonal crates you reuse.
  • Bachelor / bachelorette — not the wedding collection.
  • Bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, quinceañera — candle lighting, hora, last song, next to the party floor.
  • Cocktail hour, dinner, background — the quiet stretch auto mix can run.

Mood boxes (happy, sad, energy, relax), speed boxes (fast, moderate, slow), decade boxes, and people boxes (kids, adults) are there if you sort that way. They are filters, not folders you lose.

How to work a party

Make an event. Category Birthday, Pool, Cocktail, Theme, Children's, Surprise — or type your own. Put location, contact, the hard out, and the song they will kill you for missing into notes. Hang a playlist on the event if they sent a list. Import M3U if that is how it arrived.

Background is auto mix. Peak hour is the library with Live Brushes on energy and Master Genre, Key Filter if you mix in key, and boxes as OR, AND, NOT, ADD. The host's hate list is NOT. The birthday crate is OR. Dinner that must stay in the dinner box is AND.

Keep a party collection if wedding flow should never appear in the grid on this gig. The event still points at this Friday. The collection is the kind of job. That split is event planning plus collections.
